RoHS compliance of Capacitors for Power Electronics
In autumn 2005, we have changed the solder tin used in all our capacitors from leaded to lead-free material. At current, only those capacitors with terminal designs L and M do still contain a small concentration of leaded tin at their outer terminals. We are planning to switch those to lead-free material latest by the end of spring 2006.
Based on our current state of knowledge, we have reason to assume that after the transition described above, no more substances shall be contained in our products in quantities or concentrations which would be banned by the regulations of EU directive 2002/95/EG(“RoHS”)
However, we have not been provided RoHS-declarations for all of our existing material stocks by our suppliers. It is therefore not possible to give a general declaration of RoHS-conformity for our filter capacitors and power electronics capacitors. Please bear in mind that the components supplied to you by ELECTRONICON are not applicable to EU directive 2002/95/EG(“RoHS”) and, as far as we know, will not become part of products covered by the a.m. directive.
The transition to unleaded solder tin has been a voluntary measure. However, should specific RoHS-compliance be required for certain products, then such requirement would need to be subject of a separate contract.
